2007/1/13, Dennis Rande <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
I'm a bit confused about the "Search Selection Only" checkbox in the
Find dialog:
I have a document open with a multi-line selection. I bring up the
Find dialog, enter my search criteria, check the "Search Selection
Only" checkbox, and then click the "Find All" button.
The result is a list of *all* occurrences of my search string across
the entire document rather than just within the current selection. Is
this the expected behavior? When the "Search Selection Only" checkbox
is enabled, shouldn't the Find All button apply only to the selection?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dennis
The way I remember it, 'Search Selection Only' applies to a Find &
Replace All, not to a Find All. Agreed that it would be more logical
if it also worked with a Find All.
