Hi all,

BBEdit 8.6.1b3 is now available; as with the previous 8.6.1 betas, this
build fixes reported problems and adds minor refinements.

Like the 8.6 update before it, 8.6.1 will be a free update to
customers using BBEdit 8.5 or later. (Please note that BBEdit 8.6
requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later; if you are using 10.3.9 or earlier,
you will need to stick with BBEdit 8.5.2.)

Here's important information, carried over for the benefit of those who
haven't seen the beta announcements from previous updates:

Note that these are _pre-release_ versions. The intent is to fix
bugs and address areas of improvement based on what our customers
have reported. However, since the software is at this point not
fully tested, there _may_ be bugs and regressions. If this prospect
makes you nervous, then sticking with the public release versions is
your best course of action. Nobody will be offended if you choose to
do so; you're under no obligation to install and use anything but a
    public release. :-)

Following is a summary of the changes in the software since the last
public release. The change notes are organized into additions,
changes, and fixes, and are annotated where appropriate with case
numbers. So if you recognize a number corresponding to a support
case that was opened for you, you can now verify that it's been
    fixed correctly.

One final note: If you run into a bug in a pre-release version,
PLEASE DO NOT REPORT THE BUG TO THE LIST. This includes asking about
whether others have seen the same problem. Instead, please send a
bug report to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and we will deal with it
there. This will help us keep the list discussion on topic and
    productive for all list members.

Additions
---------

+ Added support for the LaTeX command "\verb", wherein the
character immediately after the command becomes the start
delimiter of an inline verbatim 'run', and the next occurrence
of that character closes the run. See
        <http://www.giss.nasa.gov/tools/latex/ltx-342.html> for more
info. (Verbatim runs and environments suppress recognition of
commands, comments, math, everything except whatever ends the
        run/environment.) [73598]

Changes

Fixes
-----

    - PHP interface declarations are treated correctly by the PHP
        function scanner. [72650]

    - Fixed a pair of memory leaks in the TeX scanner that contributed
to a perceived performance problem. [73720]

    - Fixed pair of bugs in which the "Reset All" button in the
language-specific "Reset to Defaults" dialog didn't do anything,
and the "Reset" button would typically reset the options for the
        wrong settings group.

    - Fixed a crash when running the html optimizer from a text factory.
