There are so many excellent free or cheap slideshow / gallery options
available these days, in PHP, JavaScript, and Flash, that it seems
crazy to write your own. I've got a bunch of them bookmarked here:

My personal fave is SlideShowPro, which is a simple Flash wrapper
(you don't have to edit the Flash directly). If you want audio to
go with it, SoundSlides is the bomb.
