It's not exactly a BBedit solution, but I do this a lot with Excel and
OpenOffice. I just save as CSV first - there's a couple tools I use on my
mac, one that lets you choose a number of diferent delimitations and gives a
friendly little GUI too (as long as you don't mind inferring the ifx in
German):

Works great, I've used it for years, and have yet to see a file bring it to
its knees. It's default setting is semi-colon delimited though.

I've never used it as CSV2XML.jar has always done the trick.

I do this frequently, roundtripping between BBEdit & Excel
because editing multiple fields in Excel is so painful, while viewing
non-fixed-length tabular data in in BBEdit is difficult.
