BBEdit does not recognize text factory files as 'openable' and 'readable' unless you change the 'Enable' pulldown to 'All Files' instead of 'Readable Files' in the Open File dialog box.

This is a bug in BBEdit.

I found a related issue yesterday. I had a .textfactory file that I had created some time ago. I was able to open it, but it came up as an XML file, rather than in the Text Factory window. I created a new TF, and was pleasantly surprised when double-clicking it opened it as a Text Factory, rather than as XML.

I presume the type & creator codes got stomped, but would still expect .textfactory files to be recognized as Factories.
