Every time BBEdit loads, that process is interrupted by a request for permission to install Command Line Tools. How do I convince the program that I really do not need or desire these tools?

By installing them, and then not using them? I would presume that they don't cost you any extra space, since they're already in the bundle.

Well, they *do* get installed in /usr/bin, not just a symlink to the application bundle, so an additional 138K is required:

$ ls -lah /usr/bin/ | grep " bb"
-rwxr-xr-x     1 root  wheel       58K Jan  4  2007 bbdiff
-rwsr-xr-x     1 root  wheel       80K Jul 18 09:59 bbedit
