You can set a preference that makes the editing cursor change into an arrow when it's at the far left of a window. When you click that you get a whole line and I'm pretty sure it doesn't include the return. If you use it to select a line for execution in a worksheet you do not get an extra line added to hold output from a shell command that's not going to occur. (If you just click in a line and allow BBEdit to select and execute the whole line you end up modifying the worksheet with an extra line.) -- --> In Christianity, man can have only one wife.
