Multi-file search won't "stick"

In 8.7, when I open the multi-file search pane, the site I previously  
searched (site A) is checked. I uncheck it and check the site I want  
to search (site B), then click Search. But the search searches Site  
A, and when it's done, the box for Site A is checked and the site for  
Site B is unchecked. i.e. it'll only search one site, I can't get it  
to search any other sites. Is this a bug, or is my app corrupted and  
I need to reinstall?
