I understood what you wrote, and I did try to follow up.  But I never used
Emacs (and rarely use shells or command lines).  After several minutes of
searching, I could not find anything about Emacs metadata syntax.

No matter - the tab setting in the Fonts palette is sufficient for what I
need.
