I always run with a BBEdit worksheet open and ready on an old CRT monitor. It's
easy to put commands like that on the worksheet and "mark" them for easy access
later. With Apple's osascript tool and a "here" document driving it you can
also access things that BBEdit won't provide except through AppleScript - like
the file name for an open window. There is a preference item that will cause
BBEdit to recognize changes made to the underlying file after you do your tr
behind its back. (But you do have to save the BBEdit window before you do such
things.)
It's almost as simple as were MPW's editing commands that could be applied to a
{Target} window.
