After a few recent questions about applying the Change Case command (Text -> Change Case), I hope the following may be of some help/interest.
By just setting up a key equivalent for BBEdit's/TextWrangler's Change Case command, you can apply case changes entirely from the keyboard. Here's how: * bring up the Preferences window (by choosing "Preferences" from the app menu) * select the Menus prefs panel * click to expand the command list for the "Text" menu * select "Change Case..." * click "Set Key..." and type whatever key equivalent you like in the resulting dialog, then click "Set" to save it [for demonstration purposes, let's choose "F5"] * create a new document containing the text "the quick red fox" * select "red" * type your key equivalent [F5] to bring up the "Change Case" sheet * type Cmd-1 to select ALL UPPER CASE *or* hold down the Command key for a couple seconds to see the key combos for other options) * press Return to apply your chosen option to the selection and Presto!, you're done. :-) Regards, Patrick Woolsey == Bare Bones Software, Inc. <http://www.barebones.com> P.O.
