Get thee into BBEdit worksheets.

bbedit  /usr/local/php5/lib/php/somethingnew
cp somethingeold  /usr/local/php5/lib/php/

Both work fine and they keep you out of the terrible mess that OS neXt has made 
out of STDFILE.

And. .  you can keep the commands in the worksheet for re-execution later with 
a select and ENTER. (Actually its a select and right click but that's just my 
mouse preference.)
