In response to Errol and Patrick comments, I've experimented with Zap
Gremlins and Convert to ASCII for the first time. (Although I'm a
long-time user, I usually stick to the basics.)
Since I nearly always want "pure" text, I'm CC-ing my wish to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Wish: offer Edit > Paste plus Convert to ASCII as a single action,
e.g., a Paste user preference, an Edit > Paste as ASCII menu action.
For a moment, I thought I could mimic this combined action with a 2-
step QuicKeys shortcut bound to Command-V. Unfortunately, Convert to
ASCII positions the text cursor at the end of the current file
(instead of at the end of the Paste).
