By nature of being browser focused, the Disk Browser displays one document at a time, and automatically opens/displays items as they are selected in the file list (and closes any previously opened document.) Since project windows are not browsers (and accumulate open documents) they require an explicit gesture. To open the selection from the keyboard, press return.
