I did my first HTML coding with Applework V3.1 (or was it 3.5?) on an Apple //gs. Combined with Randy Brandt's (?) UltraMacros, it was slick. When I found myself employed in a Windoze environment, I found a program called HotDog from Sausage software out of Australia. It wasn't bad for a Windoze program.
Still, it was a treat to move up to the Mac and BBEdit in about 1998-9. I like Charlie's idea of picking up a Mac on eBay or somewhere _just_ so you can run BBEdit. My workplace provided me with an Intel-based machine, on which I installed Linux as a disposable server, but to get work done, I picked up my own Mac Minnie and of course I run BBEdit on it.
