The question wasn't how to use Spaces, it was how to get BBedit to use Spaces properly. I have BBedit set up to use Space #4. But as I move back and forth between Space #4 and Space #1, the Documents bar eventually gets separated from the rest of BBedit and shows up in Space #1 by itself. The rest of BBedit stays in Space #4. If I click on the Documents bar in Space #1, the display moves to Space #4 (which is still missing the Documents bar). Working in Space #4, if I hide and then reveal the Documents bar, it goes back home to Space #4. It doesn't have to be Spaces #1, the Documents bar seems to move to the "current" space, whatever it is (except Space #4 where the rest of BBedit is). The Documents bar is the thing that shows up on the right in Project mode. The project browser on the left seems to stay put OK, it's only the Documents list that moves.
