Can't help with the first question but it sounds like a good suggestion. ;-) I actually meant to add a response/reply to your thread earlier tonight about the 'lack' of passive FTP. However, Mr. Rich Siegel kindly pointed me to the 'change list' and it says BBEdit still uses passive connections if they are supported by the server. It only uses a different method in needed.
