Computers being computers, they'd be very useful at a task such as updating. ;-) For example, the update software could not just enquire as to whether or not changes were made in one of the Clippings sub-folders and then come to a full stop if any are found. Rather it could drill down to the file level and update the sub-folders on a file by file basis, adding any new folders as required. It might even pop up a useful comment to the affect that it found a file which it would love to update but I had modified it and what would I like to do. BBEdit users are the most likely kind of users to modify things like the Clippings folder. I would guess that the majority of users did not get the current Clippings folder because their old one contained modified files. The installer should at least make an effort to notify them of that during the update.
