There's a further issue there. Mail's "rich text" mode (someone told 
me that feature was dropped in a previous version and that it only 
does HTML now, but I don't use Mail so I don't know) is/was actually 
"text/enriched" which is totally different from RTF, so the issue was 
probably moot to begin with. :-)
