I'm noticing something strange and unexpected in BBEdit 9.5.
I have a BBEdit project open with several XML files, all inserted into the
project via dragging from the FTP file browser. I open all the files. I
select 'Open Text Documents' to be searched.
I am searching for a string like '<itemChoices></itemChoices>' and am
replacing this with '<itemChoices><![CDATA[x]]></itemChoices>'. I have
several similar changes like this to do. There is no grep involved, just a
straightforward string replacement.
The first time, it works fine. It finds them all, and then I run the replace
to replace them. Upon a subsequent search of a similar string, it doesn't
find any results, and changes the multi-file-search dialog to only have a
checkmark beside a single open file.
If I close the BBEdit project, re-open it, and then re-open all the files,
it works again, but only for a single search/replace operation.
Actually, sometimes it finds the string in one file, but not the others.
Indeed, when this happens, it has changed the multi-file search dialog to
only have the checkmark beside a single open file, and finds the string in
that file.
Thanks,
-Mike
