I know the answer to this, but because I'm away from the Mac I can't put it to hand just now.
Basically, there's an expert preference you have to turn off that was new in 9.5 It's called something like "safe-saves". If you go to Help you cam get to the latest release notes and it will tell you there. Sorry I can't be more precise.
