Launch BBEdit 9.6 after a crash. This opens up all files that were open at the time of the crash. > 2. When you open the Find window, the keyboard focus is in the > Search field. I can type "\" without a crash, but as soon as I type "r" after "\" it crashes. Last night I found that it crashed when typing a space character in the Find window. At that point, I just bailed and reverted to 9.5.1.
