INI-style preferences were introduced in BBEdit 9.2. If you go
to the omnibus BBEdit 9 notes at
<http://www.barebones.com/support/bbedit/arch_bbedit9.html> and
search for "~/.bbedit", you'll find information about the file
format, and in the section following, more about
directory-specific prefs.
