Many Mac Programs use this Key Combination (which I think is part of
the Apple Human Factors Interface Standard) to signal a program to
launch without restoring the saved/prior state or open windows. If
you ever run into a similar problem with another program, there is
IMO no harm in attempting to bypass it via this "trick".
