I'm a little lost: in the BBEdit preferences, there's the option to
automatically expand tabs to spaces, but I can't seem to find that in any
document-specific setting.

In Textmate there's a control - in a similar location to BBEdit's "encoding"
selector - which lets me change the tab size and select whether to expand to
spaces or not, on a per-document basis.

One option I do have is to set an EMACS mode (Edit -> Insert -> EMACS Variable
Block…), but there are some files which I don't want to do that for
(specifically, files I'm committing to a code repository which is used by
people who don't use EMACS and will remove any such cruft as soon as it's
committed).

Is there another way to set "automatically expand tabs" on and off on a
per-document basis?

Alex
