I have a need to convert HTML that uses the invalid x80-x9f
Windows-1252 codepoints to their x82xx Unicode values. I am doing
this now by doing find/replace one codepoint at a time (there are
only about 6 values that are misused so I just need to run though the
files 6 times). Is there a more automated way of doing this? I would
love if BBEdit had this as one of its Format Corrections or there was
a Text Factory to fix this miscoding. I guess I can always just look
at the Manual to see how hard it would be to create my own but I
would rather just use some already available one to save me the
effort.

Since you already have the search & replace data in hand, I recommend you
just create a text factory to apply same.

To do this: Choose File -> New -> Text Factory, select and configure a
"Replace All" action, Option-click the plus (+) button to duplicate the
first action, configure the new action, rinse & repeat.

Thanks. After posting my query, I looked at the Manual and found basically the same information as you suggested. I expect to have no problems creating the TF (and if/when I find another codepoint not on my list I can add it).

OTOH: I would like to add a suggestion to the feature wish list for a future version to provide a built-in ability to perform this replacement/correction action. Also if Check Syntax does not flag this error (Charset=ISO-8859-1 but there are x80-x9f characters), I think it should.
