Hi,

I had a need to pick through a complex poem to edit small changes. I opened
the old version and the new version (without any HTML code) in two windows,
then chose Compare Two Front Documents from the Search menu. They
immediately jumped into their usual positions, with the two docs left and
right and the diffs window full width below them. But I wanted to work on a
third window containing the full web page while viewing the differences, to
make it much easier to find them mixed in with the code. So I opened the web
page in a third window and arranged everything to fit. This worked fine
until I selected the second line in the diffs window. Whoooosh! The two docs
and the diffs window were back where they started and my third window was
invisible behind them. !?!

When I arrange windows I want the program -- *any* program, including BBEdit
--
to leave them where I put them. Period. Programs should never reach out and
rearrange windows. It's obnoxious and intrusive and a whole lot of other
words I don't feel like typing at the moment.

I don't suppose there's a hidden pref that will tell BBE to stop doing this?

Rob
