There are several programs that just install Growl without asking. It's 
annoying, especially in previous versions where there was at least one 
installer (Dropbox?) that would overwrite your current version of Growl with an 
older version.

I find it very useful for somethings, like HandBrake, Irssi, Dropbox, Blizzard 
Updater, Twitter, and a few others.

It lives in /Library/PreferencePanes/
