I can reliably crash/hang/corrupt documents with BBEdit 10 by doing this: 1. Create a new document. 2. Enter some text on multiple lines. I entered "lorem" "ipsum" "dolor" "sit" across four lines. 3. Option-drag a column down the file 4. Type more than one character, e.g., "foo"
--> at this point, only the "f" will show up on every line; any letters after the first one will be inserted on the line of text where you stopped dragging. 5. Attempt to undo. --> either you will get a corrupted document (edits are in insane places), or BBEdit will hang and eventually crash. Further: if you get a corrupted document, the undo state is broken; undoing will likely cause a crash. If it does not crash, you won't be able to undo the change, but the black diamond will be present. Closing the document will almost certainly crash/hang. For me, this is a very common operation that I do in TextMate all the time. --Jim -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "BBEdit Talk" discussion group on Google Groups.
