I hate editing text at the bottom of a window (I need following context, even
if the following context is just "end of file"), so I liked the pre-10
preference that allowed you to scroll past the end of a file by a full or half
page.
BBEdit 10 is still honoring my old setting*, but I don't see where to set it in
the Preferences window. I can make peace with the its being esoteric or
infrequent enough that it didn't make it into the window, but I can't find an
expert preference, either. The help window doesn't seem to include it in any
obvious category, and searching the manual for "half," "blank," or "empty"
doesn't turn anything up.
* (But it looks as though, if you reopen a file that had been scrolled
to/selected at the end, BBEdit scrolls it down several pages past the end. Bug
report when I have it better characterized.)
I'd hate to get into a position where I have to destroy my preferences, or
otherwise have to deal with a virgin setup, and lose a feature that is
important to me. Have I missed the setting? If it really isn't there, I'll file
a bug report.
