As I write I have a progress window entitled 'BBEdit Progress' with a
Stop button. I have no idea what is in progress. It does not
prevent my doing whatever I want to do in BBE. If I press the Stop
button there is no reaction at all. If I press either ESC or
command-dot there is a momentary hesitation in the barber's pole but
the thing just sits there and won't go away.
