No, I have no such menu scripts. For good measure I also deleted the
key shortcuts for "New Text Document" and "New Text Window", which I
presume are the defaults. Both menu items create new windows in
precisely the same position every time. I also zipped Application
Support/BBEdit and deleted the folder. This does not change the
behaviour.
Whether it's relevant or not I don't know, but I see that my
TextWrangler 3.0 gives an option in Preferences to cascade new
windows or not. However I set this I get superimposed windows!
This behaviour is with 10.6.7 and 10.6.8.
