Thanks for the quick response. Next time I'll check the change notes. I must say that, though I love BBEdit, I don't understand why this would be retired. It's a very useful function and the tiny display in the Text Statistics status bar just isn't as handy, at least for my workflow. I could see removing the icon from the toolbar, if you feel it adds clutter, but I'd recommend keeping it available as a menu option.
