I haven't tried BBEdit 10 yet, nor have I done objective measurements, but based on the load time, generally sluggishness of my entire system and HDD trashing when running Eclipse, I'd say that BBEdit's use of system resources are a very small fraction of Eclipse's. Eclipse has always been a pig when it comes to resources. In part due to the Java VM and general architecture of the system.
