I am trying to find code enclosed by a pair of html tags or
parens or whatever using either the "Balance" or the "Balance
Tags" command. Works as described on a new BBEdit document but
not on an anonymous html document.
The BBEdit Manual says in so many words that balance only works
in new BBEdit documents. I'm wondering how to make it work in
old, non-BBEdit documents.
No, they do not necessarily validate but that often seems to be
because they were declared as a document type not explicitly
recognized by BBEdit.
No, they are not working.

1. What in particular are you trying to do with the Balance command?
2. Is it working but not doing what you expected?
3. Is the HTML code clean? (Does it validate?)
