I just realized I forgot one thing. This should be:
my $re =
'\b(' .
join('|', map "\Q$_\E", sort { length $b <=> length $a } keys %dict) .
')\b';
in case the terms contain special characters. "\Q$_\E" will escape the
special characters with backslashes.
