I'm doing some editing of an Excel doc, using the find and replace feature to remove some existing tabs that bracket an end line character, with the intent to re-import the file into Excel as distinct columns. In BBEdit, my edit's go just fine, (using the highlight -past to find-replace) and the new tabs I create appear to be the same as the original documents existing tabs, yet when I retrieve the txt file back into Excel, the tabs I created in BBEdit do not act like the original tabs in the original document, and do not trigger new columns.
What am I not doing right? Thanks in advance for your time. Dick Griffin -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "BBEdit Talk" discussion group on Google Groups.
