I haven't seen anything like that in recent versions. Unless someone else can say something, you should report it to [email protected]. What would be really helpful to them is to launch "Activity Monitor" (it's in /Applications/Utilities), find BBEdit in the list of processes, and select it. Then trigger the hang in BBEdit, go back to Activity Monitor, and with BBEdit still selected, click "Sample Process." That will produce a report of what BBEdit was doing. Save it and include it in your report to Bare Bones. Provide details like whether the beachball cursor is showing, whether controls are responsive at all, where the files you're searching are (on a network share?), and how many of them there are.
