Yes, that worked! The trick seems to be to copy/paste the entire document (as styled text) into the .rtf document, and then cut out the parts you don't want. I wish I had learned about this years ago; it will be very helpful with the extensive tech notes and logs I keep for myself. At least... in .rtf or .rtfd form. Whether I'll be able to paste the HTML code usefully into a web page is another matter... I glanced at the underlying HTML and my first impression was that it looked like a mess.
