Howdy,

Ok, answering my own question... I have the fn key set so the Function (e.g., 
F1) keys are really the Function keys rather than the silly symbol by default 
and don't know if that changes the meaning of the Arrow keys too. Then 
fn-Opt-UpArrow/DownArrow behave as you suggested in TextEdit, etc., while the 
page scrolls but the cursor doesn't seem to center in BBEdit.
