Here's the way I was told: Paste the information into a document, select-all
then choose Show Fonts (Command T) and at the bottom you can set your tab width. I use this ALL the time, BBEdit is so far superior than Excel or Numbers, for it's ability not to mung the data I'm working with. If anyone knows how to get varying tab widths in BBEdit, Do speak up! And if the barebones team ever released a spreadsheet editor, just let me know how much to pay, I'd pay it!
