I have this strange behaviour for which I found an explanation. Whenever I hit the command+f or find, BBEdit freezes sometimes for a minute before giving back control. During that time BBEdit is totally unresponsive. I managed to stop this behaviour by disabling Kaspersky anti virus, as strange as it seems, while BBEdit is unresponsive, if I disable Kaspersky BBEdit gives back control immediately. I really don't know what the anti virus has to do with my BBEdit finds, but this is a repeatable symptom. It seems that Kaspersky is quite aggressive, it even slows down writing to a MoingoDB database...
