Generally, I think BBEdit is superb .. fast, easy to use, clean, and
intuitive.

BUT one place it falls down for me is the odd setup in the Multi-file
search dialog box. How do I tell it WHERE to search? Yes, there is the
"Search in:" list box, but it strikes me as odd that this shows a series of
check boxes. Where is the button to choose a folder to search? Apparently
it's "Other.." which strikes me as a very odd way to express this
functionality. Most OS X apps use something like "+" and "-" buttons to
add/remove items from a list of search locations, and imho this dialog is
crying out for a redesign based on this metaphor. The layout doesnt help
either, since the "Other..." button is right next to "Options" and "Save
Set", which tends to make it not appear to be joined to the Search In list
at all.

What this dialog should REALLY have, imho, is the current list of checkbox
items, and below it four square buttons: "+", "-", "gear" and "save" (the
gear button the usual OS X gear icon and the save is the usual save icon).
The "+" and "-" button add/remove items from the search in list (folders),
while gear takes the place of "options" and "save" takes the place of "save
set".
