I use projects extensively across multiple different languages. No two projects really share the same multifile search settings. The filters I have for the C projects to restrict searches to .c and .h files, are not useful when I switch to editing configurations. The filters I have for configurations to restrict searches to .conf files are not useful for C projects.
It seems the multifile search stuff really doesn't work well in a global context, especially when working with several projects at once. I personally would find it useful to retain the last used settings on a per project basis instead of globally for the editor, the project being decided by the current foreground project.
