I am writing text files from a program, using ASCII LF for line breaks. When opening such a file with BBEdit, it shows, at the bottom of the window in the status bar, the line break type as "Classic Mac", i.e. ASCII CR.
So my question is: what information in the text file is used by BBEdit to decide what to show as the line break type? -- This is the BBEdit Talk public discussion group.
