You shouldn't mess with those unless you were specifically advised to. In this case, those are the factory defaults so the commands have no actual effect.

However, it still isn't auto-saving. What's up?

The "auto save" is really "crash recovery"; it's not that the "Save" command is periodically invoked, but rather that enough information is periodically saved that in the event of some external event, information can be recovered the next time you start the application.
