Hey John, Thanks. I knew I could do something like that, but now I don't have to write it. :) However. Ideally what I want to do is get the contents or the selection of the front document and not touch its save-state. I can do this easily with Applescript, but I think it would be convenient to be able to do so from a text filter and/or from a script in the shebang menu - so I'm exploring the possibilities before making a feature suggestion to Bare Bones. -- Take Care, Chris -- This is the BBEdit Talk public discussion group.
