I need to edit a httpd.conf file that's apparently protected by some kind of mysterious force field. I can open it, edit it and save it with a variety of programs, but the changes vanish every time I restart the server. When I click Get Info, it says I have Read & Write privileges. I changed it so that EVERYBODY has Read & Write privileges.
Someone suggested I restart the server by typing sudo apachectl -k restart into Terminal. So I did, and I get the following error: /usr/sbin/apachectl: line 90: 17349 Bus error: 10 $HTTPD $ARGV I also copied the file onto my desktop, modified and saved it, then put it back in its original folder. When I restarted my server, the changes disappeared. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm using MAMP Pro on a MacBook Pro running OS X Lion. Thanks! -- This is the BBEdit Talk public discussion group.
