Hrmm… my immediate testing has produced exactly the result that I encountered 
today.

1) Open Find & Replace window
2) Type anything in the “Find:” box
3) Switch back to document window
4) Use quick find to find something else
5) Switch back to Find & Replace window (text in the “Find:” box will be what 
you typed in the Quick Find field)
6) Press Command+Z *once*, no change in the text in the “Find:” box
7) Press Command+Z again, you’ll get back what you typed in step 2

Of course in the state I was in today, I got to step 6 and spat the dummy.

I’m turning find scrap off since for me the Find & Replace window (“Find 
dialog”) exists for an entirely different purpose to Spotlight search or Quick 
Find. I pretty much exclusively use F&R for regex munging.
