You might be able to accomplish what you want just using stationery. Suppose your stationery looked like this:
------------------ title: <##> date: #LOCALTIME %B %-e, %Y# author: Jan Erik Moström id: #UUID# <##> ------------------ Create a new document based on your stationery file and use Markup -> Update -> Document (command-control-u).
